Although deriving from the same plant as the caper, caperberries are profoundly different and not interchangeable in the kitchen. Although they still have that slight lemon taste, they are much milder than capers. You can include sliced caperberries in recipes calling for capers if you want a dish that is a bit less acidic. They can also be eaten very much in the same manner you might eat olives or pickles.
