DIY – BF-163 Kegerator Fan Replacement/Upgrade

$40.5 $63.18
Description WARNING – THE INSTALLATION OF THIS FAN REQUIRES DRILLING INTO THE SIDE OF THE REFRIGERATOR – WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED BY THIS.   This fan is larger than the fan that comes with the kegerator and allows better airflow within the fridge. This will keep the temperature inside of the fridge more consistent.   To start the installation of this fan you will need to remove the fan that comes in the fridge. It is located inside the fridge on the right hand wall towards the top. You will need to unscrew the 2 small screws from the cage that is covering the fan. After this you will need to remove the 4 screws from the fan (Make sure you don’t lose these screws or the white plastic standoffs on the other side of the fan as these will be used for the install).   After the fan is removed you need to cut the wires of the connector inside of the fridge and strip around 1-1.5cm of the rubber shield. Do this for the new fan aswell. (as shown in the images)             Twist the BLACK wire of the fan to the WHITE wire in the fridge (if you are using heat shrink tube make sure you put it over the long wire before twisting them together) Either heat shrink the individual wires together or use electrical tape. Make sure the 2 seperate bare wires are not touching eachother. When each wire is isolated you can tape them together and tuck the excess cable back into the fridge. We will use the screws and standoffs from the old fridge fan(We found it easier to install by putting all 4 screws into the fan and the 4 standoffs in the back of the fan before screwing the first one in). Screw the top right of the fan intor the top right hole first(as shown in the image)THIS FAN IS INSTALLED BACK TO FRONT, THE IMAGE WILL BE REPLACED WITH ONE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. MAKE SURE WHEN INSTALLING THE FANS SUPPORTS ARE FACING TOWARDS YOU. By using the hole that is already there for the old fan it will help you line up where we have screwed the fan in without hitting any lines. However there is still a risk of hitting lines so ensure that you are wearing safety equipment and are in a well ventilated area. Level the fan and screw the other 3 screws in, We have found that it’s easiest to use a drill with a screwdriver bit. Make sure the white plastic standoffs are still installed on the back side of the fan in all 4 screws. These standoffs ensure that the fan has a gap to allow air in through the back.
